Quick world news update from London: The famous clock tower
Big Ben is to be renamed Elizabeth Tower to mark the queen's 60th year on the
British throne. Does this have any impact to the rest of the world? Not really.
Except Chevy Chase may need to re-do the roundabout scene in his movie European
Vacation.

Quality gadget at a jaw-dropping price. This is how the
Kindle Fire became a success (dare I say huge?). Now Amazon is taking things to
the next level and is ready to introduce the new Kindle Fire 2. Set to be
presented on July 31, Amazon aims to start shipping the Kindle Fire 2 on
August. That’s right, just 2 months away.
So what is it with this e-reader-turned-tablet that will get
us all excited? Well here’s a rundown of some of the rumoured features of the new Kindle Fire 2:
3 new screen size– 7 inch, 8.9 inch and 10 inch
Wifi or Wifi+4G option
Metal casing
Camera
Improved UI and faster OS
8-hr battery life
Starting price: $149
As we now know Amazon can make a great product, but pricing
will be a huge factor in a consumer standpoint especially with Google Nexus 7
coming out. And if they play their cards right, the Kindle Fire 2 will win big!

TIKTIK:The Aswang Chronicles
This is definitely some-fucking-thing to look 4ward to!
TIKTIK:The Aswang Chronicles is a horror movie which stars
Dingdong Dantes, Joey Marquez, Janice de Belen, Lovi Poe, and Ramon Bautista,
as an odd mix of characters who suddenly find themselves the target of a
vicious, deadly attack by a legion of pissed-off aswangs. Directed by Erik
Matti, the movie was entirely shot on green screen to give that comic book
effect, similar to 300 and Sin City.
Filipinos has a rich history of mythical creatures that have
been used in movies for a number of years, And all I can say is they were dull,
boring and flat out ridiculous. Our creatures deserves better! And TIKTIK is
taking the Aswang story-telling to another level, pouring in a whole lot of
darkness to the film. Produced by Reality Entertainment, Agosto Dos, and GMA
Films, TIKTIK:The Aswang Chronicles opens in theaters nationwide in October
2012.

Ladies and Gents – the Microsoft Surface tablet
After the big hush hush and tight lock down, Microsoft
finally announced their new line of Windows tablet calling it Surface. And boy it
is B-E-A-UTIFUL!
FEATURES
The Surface tablets feature a 10.6 inch touch screen wrapped
in VaporMg (Vapor Mag, magnesium casing) giving it a solid feel plus an HD
port, full size-USB slot and kickstand. Surface will be available in 2 versions - Windows
RT (which is a toned down Windows 8) and Windows 8 Pro.
What’s amazing about the Surface is the magnetically
attached 3mm-thick Touch Cover that folds down and functions as a full
touchscreen keyboard. We have NEVER seen anything like this. The Touch Cover
being magnetically attached, it is absolute mind blasting! It uses pressure-sensitive
technology which allows faster touch typing. With a felt-like feel, there are
several colors to choose from and even thicker 5mm cover is available.
The Microsoft Surface also comes with a built in kickstand (no, it’s
not like Archos’ skinny stick popping stand) which is well-designed and built
for actual use.

Microsoft Surface with Windows RT:
- Windows RT operating system
- Nvidia ARM CPU
- 9.3mm thick
- 676 grams/23.85 ounces
- 10.6-inch ClearType HD Display

- Storage options: 64GB and 128GB

PRICE & AVAILABLILTY
Unfortunately we absolutely do not know when the Microsoft
Surface tablet will be available. As for the price, all we know is the RT version will
be competitively priced at around USD 500, just like any other ARM powered
tablet. For the Pro version, we heard it will be priced similar to that of
ultrabooks.
With the little information Microsoft announced, we are
still waiting on other features the Surface tablet can offer such as apps, integration
with other Microsoft devices, connectivity options, battery life and more
hands-on review. But so far, all we can say is bravo!!
More on the Microsoft
Surface tablet soon.

How do Energizer and Nuffnang power your lifestyle?
Energizer and
Nuffnang power my life through giving me super human powers. How?? By the power of the REMOTE CONTROL!! If
Iron Man can command Jarvis to change TV channels, Storm can change the weather temperature,
Superman blowing a windy breeze, I can do all the same with just a touch of a
finger on my remote control. And all of this is made possible by Energizer
power.
Don’t let
your remote control you. Be in control of your remotes!
I’m a blogger
and spend most of my time sitting on the couch whipping up a good article post.
And I highly depend on my remote controls running on good batteries. Why? Well
you don’t want to be getting up every 5 minutes just to change the channel or
adjust the A/C temperature just because your cheap batteries have failed you.
Believe me I have gone thru that path and it was very irritating. But now I
have Energizer AA batteries powering my TV remote, AAA batteries in my A/C and
fan remotes, 3V battery in my portable DVD remote and my work is just flowing, uninterrupted!
Energizer, Makers of the World’s Longest Lasting Batteries, helps you be IN
CONTROL of your remotes by giving you long lasting power sealed in for years!
Okay okay, I don’t
have the same super powers of changing channels by a blink of eye like that
X-men kid. But with Energizer powering my remote controls, I have all the power
that I need.
Microsoft coming out with their own Windows 8 Tablet
Microsoft is set to have a “major” announcement on Monday June 18 at Los Angeles. For what its about, we know very little of what going down since Microsoft is keeping a very tight lid. A lot of people are leaning towards the introduction of new devices, but in particular the Microsoft-manufactured tablet. Oh yes, Microsoft is finally entering the game of designing AND building both hardware AND software for tablets.
Will it be a good move for Microsoft to build their own
tablet? My opinion, YES. Microsoft has years of experience under its belt manufacturing
devices such as PC peripherals, media players, a couple of smartphones and of
course the Xbox. Most of them did not bring Microsoft to greatness, but
nevertheless, they do know how to make a quality product. For now all we know is that
the Microsoft tablet will be running on x86 and ARM processors and
Windows 8 (like I said, information about this event is sealed tight!).
So what’s great about this Microsoft-manufactured tablet?
Why it’s the Windows 8 of course. And this operating system is just remarkable.
Microsoft really did a good job with the interface, tiles and the overall platform.
The only concern is how they've integrated this software to a hardware that will rake
great reviews. But bottom-line, it will
all boil down to expectations on price, design, and user experience. If everything can be tied together nicely,
Apple may have found a serious rival.
